Lightning # √
The waves engender lightning as I struggle to the shore
I feel the shock of wind and rain, and don the helm, once more
The weight of salty water bears me, slowly, towards the ground
The strength of tides required now, to keep me safely bound
Upon a course set years ago
The footsteps set precise and slow
The flicker of the lightning brightens all the ways in which
The leaves of time will blow away, all seasons at a pitch
I drag myself above the tides, beyond the craggy crest
And stand above the highest rocks, for Traveler, a test
I turn and look upon the ocean's ragged, furied wake
As trav’ler, bending test of time, recovers from the ache
